Unite US (formerly known as unite auburn) is a christian organization founded by Tonya Prewett (mother of Madi Prewett from season 24 of "the bachelor") that travels to college campuses across the nation to hold a worship night in each school's arena.
This organization started in Auburn, Alabama and was never expected to launch into a national revival. I served as a charter member of this organization when its first event was held in auburn. in auburn, baptisms spontaneously took place, beginning the tradition now held at every unite event.
for unite auburn, I created and managed social media accounts on all platforms, created video board content, collaborated with Tonya Prewett daily to coordinate details of the event and managed shot media after the event. I also helped transition the pages from unite auburn to unite us as this organization went national.
the first task at hand was to propose a media plan. I was hired 6 weeks before the event took place with high expectations to fill up an arena that seats 8,000.
I crafted a five week day by day calendar with proposed ideas to collaborate with athletes and head coaches with big platforms to get as much exposure as quickly as possible. by the time the event began, the instagram account had over 6,000 followers.
although this is far outside my comfort zone creatively, I was asked to created credentials and ticket style flyers to hand out to students.
a week before the event, I was faced with the request to get a video on Jordan-hare stadium's video board just three days before the game. I quickly scheduled shoots with Hugh freeze, bruce pearl and butch Thompson. I scheduled, scripted, shot, edited and sent this video off within 24 hours on a Thursday to get it approved to play before kick off on a Saturday.
I own none of the footage below. each video was edited by me.
this event got a lot of national attention as auburn's head football coach, Hugh freeze, made an appearance and assisted in the baptism of one of his athletes. This extended my role with unite auburn as I continued to provide content after the event. I also managed news requests from fox, cbs and local stations, organizing interviews and contact with our founding members.
